Fetal Neurosonography hands-on ultrasound workshop at Apollo Hospital, New Delhi

Empowerus has achieved another milestone by completing the fetal neurosonography hands-on course on 20 July 2025 at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals with an enthusiastic batch of 16 candidates from all across India.

With over five hours of hands-on sessions interspersed with crisp lectures by Dr Anita Kaul, Dr Rachna Gupta, and Dr Akshatha Prabhu—getting oriented to every detail of the fetal brain, followed by diagnosing abnormalities—the course was well-received and appreciated by the participants.

An essential aspect of a neurosonogram remains a transvaginal scan. Patient access for the same remains limited; therefore, these simulators remain the backbone of investigations into the fetal brain.

Pattern recognition and identification of Common abnormalities such as ventriculomegaly, Midline abnormalities, posterior fossa abnormalities and their differential diagnosis were discussed at length.

The live demo helped us understand the common issues faced and tricks to overcome these challenges while ensuring a 360-degree evaluation of the fetal brain.
