Hands-on Ultrasound Workshop on Obstetric Ultrasound at BSMMU, Dhaka.

On 1st February 2025, Empower US successfully conducted a one-day outreach, simulator-based, hands-on session on obstetrics ultrasound at BSMMU, Dhaka. The program featured live demonstrations and practical training, utilising Volutracer OPUS optical simulators and the ultrasound machine from GE.
The program commenced with the basics of ultrasound, focusing on methodology, knobology, and image optimisation. This was followed by a comprehensive session on early pregnancy scans and a detailed overview of first-trimester scans, which included the correct measurement of fetal crown-rump length (CRL) and nuchal translucency (NT). The delegates were highly captivated by the simulator training and the extensive hands-on opportunities it provided. The nuances of Fetal biometry and Doppler in obstetrics was also easy to grasp, thanks to the practice on the simulator and the live demos.
The event proved to be an enriching experience for both faculty and delegates. A significant highlight was the presence of Prof. Firoza Begum (Founder President of the FETO MATERNAL Medicine Society of Bangladesh), who attended the program from start to finish. Her esteemed presence served as a great source of motivation for everyone involved.
The session was seamlessly conducted and delivered by Dr. Anita Kaul Fetalmedicine India and Dr. Supriya Seshadri. The program concluded with enthusiastic delegates requesting more hands-on sessions in the future @anitakaul_apollodelhi @supriyaseshadri @prof.firozabegum
